Construction Procurement Systems is a company founded by someone who has been in the construction industry for over 40 years. His main expertise was as an estimator and project manager for multiply construction companies. He has also been a business owner of a company in the early 90's called Bid Facilitator out of Topeka Kansas. Bid Facilitator's provided plan room facilities to its many members in the area. These members were mostly sub-contractors who needed access to blueprints for construction projects so they could place a bid on them to the general contractors. While providing this necessary service to its members the founder also performed quantity takeoffs on hundreds of commercial construction projects in the numerous trades of its members.

It is during this time when the founder noticed that Division 08 was unique amongst all the divisions that make up a commercial construction project. It is the only Division that if all the information is entered correctly then any two different estimators will come up with the same exact numbers and information to be used in their estimating process. All the other divisions are estimated using various techniques but the division 08 is made up of two distict data tables. The Door Schedule and the Hardware Schedule. As long as these two data tables are transcribed correctly then you will consistently have an accurate quantity takeoff time and time again.

So it is from this understanding that the founder embarked on a path to create a database software program that would be able to combine these two data tables thus ensuring that each and every quantity takeoff would be accurate and easily done.

Which brings us to the present where we have this new company called Construction Procurement Systems with this website as part of a multifaceted marketing campaign to bring this much needed outsourcing company to the commercial construction industry in the United States.

CPS focuses on the Doors, Door Frames, and all the Architectural Hardware that goes along with those items. Although windows are included in Division 08, we don't include that item in our quantity takeoffs as that would entail going over the whole set of blueprints to find the window openings and information associated with that endeavor. We focus on the two data tables (door schedule and hardware schedule) that can be imported into our CPS Database software.
